About Us

Muddypaws Production was a dream that my wife and I shared. It finally became reality in January 2007 when asked by my first client to create an animation of a product she wanted to show off to manufacturing companies. That project led to us starting Muddypaws Productions.

What's in a Name

So where does the name come from? Well the nameJake "Muddypaws" Clemens was given to our loving dog Jake many years ago as a nickname. No matter where we were with him he always seemed to find mud to play in, hence the name Muddypaws.

Jake traveled with us throughout Virginia, Alaska, Germany, and Missouri. He was a kind and loving dog, our best friend and our child. In 2002, Jake became a diabetic. Yes, that is right he became a diabetic. He had to receive insulin shots twice a day just like most humans that become diabetic. He lived with this for four years until it just became to much for him. He died 2 July 2006. We miss him very much and the name of the company is in his honor.

Staff

Jason Clemens - Multimedia Designer

I am a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and have served over 18 years now as a Construction Equipment Repairer. Yes, I am a mechanic, so if my background is in maintenance then how did I get involved with multi-media design you ask? I took notice as a new instructor that we were using 2-dimensional slides (PowerPoint) to instruct when 3-dimensional animations would better enhance our ability to show complex moving parts. So, I had a challenge.

I started learning how to create 3D animations to create a visual display of a transmission for use in our instructions. This led me to be chosen to assist in the creation of a series of learning modules that use 3D animations, NGRAIN animations and Flash, packaged into a web based learning simulation. NGRAIN is a company based in Canada. They create 3D animations that allow a designer to develop an eLearning project specifically for teaching the assembly and disassembly of complex mechanical parts by allowing the user to remove and attach parts in a logical sequence. For more information about NGRAIN visit www.ngrain.com.

This led me to become the webmaster for various military units, a Microsoft SharePoint administrator, and BlackBoard Administrator. My skills in various multimedia design areas have continued to grow.
